What is Down Syndrome?
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder affecting around one in one thousand people. It is caused by the presence of a third copy of a chromosome 21 gene.
There are many symptoms, the most prominent being mental impairment. Down syndrome was discovered by John Langdon Down.
